Summer pregnancy staples: new polyvore addiction

So...about a month ago I signed up for a Polyvore account and then got overly intimidated by the whole thing.  Well, today I decided (while I am supposed to be working out...heading there next) to try it again and hallelujah, my college degree is good for something!

I ordered the two skirts here from Swell and now am admittedly feeling like I wish I was a surfer girl. Naturally, this goes so well with Oregon weather (it is currently a downpour outside).  Also, the sports bra type thing is from Forever 21 and is the best bra I have ever owned-and they are $4.80. Wow.

I am quite excited about this because I actually worked in retail for quite a few years (Ralph Lauren in Aspen and before I was able to sometimes be a buyer for a small boutique in college which allowed me to go the LA Clothing Mart).  As a mom I do think you need some sort of creative outlet and since my sewing machine tends to remind me of the air conditioning unit in Elf, I am choosing the digital creativity instead.

PS: I think I have only purchased five maternity items in all of my brief preggo times.  I really just try to find things that I can use all the time and thankfully, drapey tends to still be in.

Love, Anna

Yes, style. Yes, please.

So I clicked on a google link.  Turns out it was an Asian website for all sorts of excellent pieces.  I rarely shop any more for clothing (my husband finally wore off on me) but I did find some great little duds for post-babyness-preggo times.

And who knows if they will fit... Let's just say most of their shoes only went to size 7.5 and most of their tops were "one size."  I am clearly not of the Asian build...I will let you know how they work!

38 weeks.

Somehow the baby is in the middle today. That is a cow on our floor.

Less than two weeks!

I have less than two weeks left-in theory.  The doctor, who we adore, even gave us a personal note (I call it a "hall pass") so they will personally call him when I go in so hopefully we can have him do the delivery!

I met with my dula/friend/mentor/sister yesterday and went through how to keep things calm and to truly enjoy and cherish every moment of this little one entering this side of the world.

I had a shower last weekend thrown by my beautiful sis, mom and the amazing Courtney and was abundantly blessed by amazing friends and family.  We seriously have everything we need to get "rolling" and I can't believe how generous our friends are.

(Pics to come)

Things to know about yourself, baby:

-you love to move.  And your feet just switched from the right side to the left side of my tummy. And no, you can't come out the front of my tummy like you have been trying.

-Your daddy is the most solid (physically and mentally) man I know. And he LOVES to dance.

-You are measuring at 36 weeks (odd because I was measuring ahead the whole time and now I am not).

-The doctor thinks you might be a boy.

-You might be up for a competition of being the most loved baby in the womb (thanks, mom:)). Wait til' they can kiss you!

-You have the best dad in the whole, wide, circular, rotating on a 13 degree axis, world.

-We promise to raise you as godly parents and love you in all the ways that Jesus loves us. Which is abundantly and unconditionally...

Side Bar

So Matt for Christmas said he would take me shopping to Forever 21 after the wee one arrives (he said he would "send me" and I asked if he would come :)  Need someone to hold that precious lil'!

Back to the clothing (our little one is currently naked and I am guessing will always prefer that).  I have been scouting while looking for "neutral clothing" and here is what momma-to-be would like to be donning in a few months.

Notes:
-I love silk. Mucho.
-I love color. Mucho.
-I love ruffles and lace.
-I like good prices.

Cutesie-ness.

I have discovered amazon.com...for all things baby.  Oh, dear.  Good thing I don't know if this little workout machine is a handsome boy or an adorable girl :)

Just a few of my favorites:

I know. Ridiculous. Something about tiny things.

Weekend (day) away.

Hello!

Husband and I went away to Cannon Beach Lodge Friday to just relax and take in some sunshine, complete with an ocean, which is a rarity in Oregon.  I would go anywhere with this man, anytime, anyday.

PS: I LOVE my Hunter boots.  Pics below.  I truly love things that are functional and sassy (somehow I do not think my Uggs fall into this).

PPS: My husband got me the Kate Spade Fiorella necklace I was ooodling over :)  I might have sent him one or two emails when I found it on sale...maybe.  You know me and bargains.  She is a beauty and since I pretty much never wear jewelry, this will be a special one.

I hope you had a ridiculously blessed weekend.

I know the Reason for the season and He does this sort of stuff :)

I was sooo happy to be standing in this mini river!

A fashion post.

As you have likely noted, I rarely post anything on fashion. I worked in clothing for so many years and to be honest, as much as I love it, it kind of lost its charm (plus I used to be addicted to shopping and thus the caution).

However, in the midst of things no longer fitting (my "top" has gone up three sizes)...I have been searching for eek...maternity...items.  Crazy.  Seriously. I already have a long torso so what I used to define as long no longer works with the wee one taking up a daily increase in space.

Good news is: I found amazing things for people who aren't preggo in my search!  Found myself at Kohls and discovered the Lauren Conrad and Daisy Fuentes line (not to mention Vera) and they are priced so well.  I will show three-just to get you looking and then you will have to check it out for yourself.  So inexpensive and quite savvy. I will be awaiting next spring for any of these items.

Oh, and here is the solo item I found for pants for myself (Old Navy).

Charmeuse capris: $20.00

Mainly posted this because I love the couch...and her top...and the pillows...and the hedge.

Miss Daisy's line. $33.60 on sale!

LC Skirt- $35.90 on sale!

And this lovely. LC- $44.80
