Face to face.

So I got rid of my facebook.  Part of it was conviction and another was a suggestion on my wise husband's behalf.  It took a lot of strength (pathetic, eh?).  Seriously-I deactivated it and went and told my husband and he asked me how I was doing...

It was like a false life circuit was cut off:  false meaning in the sense of a medicinal temporary life sustainer versus the real flesh and blood.

I want so desperately to be more relational, call people back, cook/bake for people, etc. And to be entirely honest, I could've spent hours on facebook just looking at pictures and seeing status updates (really edifying lifestyle).

So-all of me is back.  And although I feel borderline naked without my "social network," I pray God gives me many, many people that I can serve in the time that I would have been perusing the social likes of 700+ individuals (disclaimer: not in a stalker sort of way :)).

This is for all of you:
Watch out...glitter projects for the holidays to come.
Thus today: I am making two dinners for a woman I met in Starbucks who had a baby two weeks ago. I know how much I love it when people bless me with food and she doesn't have any family here so I offered to bring a few things over.  The kicker is-they are gluten free so I am learning to navigate that realm (oat and rice flour were purchased this am).

On the list:

-Everything Free Oatmeal Cookies
-Beef Stew in the crock pot
-Butternut Squash Chili (sounds amazing!!!)

Oh, and my amazing parents delivered our crib on Saturday and sister and them helped put it together...it is coming along so adorably!  Good thing, this wee one is starting to take up a lot of room inside of me :)  And talk about active...

Alrighty. All my love, Anna N

  6. I was wondering what happened. I had a moment of loss when I thought I had been "unfriended" by you. Believe me I checked! I wanted to show my friend some pictures of a wedding (I think you put together) and was going to check in on you as well. Glad to see that you just got rid of your page. Also glad to see things are coming along beautifully for you in your life and for what God has in store for you. I miss the whole Wright clan!
I'll have to get contact info from you then to do it the old fashioned way. :-) Also a good Gluten free brand as I have several friends with the allergy is Udi's and Amy's.

  7. Girlie, I think you did the right thing ... I tinker with the idea often of deleting my FB page for a SECOND time ... Love the fabrics you found for the nursery, can't wait to see pics!! Love you & hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  8. I love (love, love) that you're taking meals to a new mom. That's one of my favorite things to do!

If you ever need more GF recipes, let me know... I have many favorites. Including some new caramel, cranberry and almond tarts that I made last night... And my good friend who is gluten sensitive is actually allergic to oats as well, so I have oat-free recipes if you ever need them, too. :)

  9. How my heart is jumping for joy. Being a young mother and my social network was serving others. We had a family chat this past week, me pouring out my sadness of the distractions young moms have. Having been over to many young mommy homes and seeing the laptop on the counter, and FB logged in. It does take away from not just face to face time with others, but our children too. I love you Anna for setting an example.
